Lawrence Community Works (LCW) believes that a network of 5,000 civically engaged residents can transform this struggling former mill town into a thriving community with strong schools and stable families. LCW nurtures a dynamic, growing network of programs and education that helps families become active involved citizens while building their own skills, and financial assets. Membership is currently at more than 3,000, and despite the economic crisis in Lawrence, by July of 2009 only one of the hundreds of families in the LCW homeowner network has experienced foreclosure.
